Powertrain & Performance
The NETA GT is offered in two drivetrain configurations: single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) and dual-motor all-wheel drive (4WD). The RWD variant is powered by a rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor generating 170 kW (approx. 231 PS) and 310 Nm of torque, completing the 0-100 km/h century sprint in an official 6.5 to 6.7 seconds. The dual-motor 4WD variant adds a front motor to deliver a combined system output of 340 kW (approx. 462 PS) and a massive 620 Nm of torque, blitzing from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 190 km/h, backed by an official 100-0 km/h stopping distance of 32 metres. The 4WD model also features a one-touch Launch Control mode, pre-loading motor torque before instant release to maximise off-the-line traction.
In terms of battery specifications, the RWD model is equipped with a 74.48 kWh ternary lithium (NMC) battery pack (with cells supplied by CATL), delivering a CLTC-rated range of 660 km (660 RWD) or 560 km (560 RWD). The 4WD model packs a 78 kWh ternary lithium battery pack (cells sourced from EVE Energy), providing a CLTC range of 580 km. DC fast charging is supported across the range, taking as little as 30 minutes to juice up from 30% to 80% State of Charge (SoC), while standard AC charging takes approximately 12 to 14 hours for a full charge. The battery uses an active liquid-cooling and thermal management system, ensuring operating safety and sustained output across diverse weather and driving conditions.
Chassis & Handling
Underneath, the NETA GT rides on an all-independent suspension setup comprising front double wishbones and a rear multi-link configuration. Key suspension components, including the front/lower control arms and steering knuckles, are forged from lightweight aluminium alloy to reduce unsprung mass and sharpen chassis response. Structural rigidity is reinforced by 11 ring-shaped body braces, giving the coupé an impressive torsional stiffness of 34,000 Nm/deg against a kerb weight of 1,820 to 1,950 kg, providing robust structural integrity for high-speed cornering stability. The vehicle achieves an ideal 50:50 front-to-rear axle weight distribution, a low centre of gravity of just 450 mm, and a tight roll gradient of 2.8°/g (compared to 3.0–3.5°/g typical in conventional sports models), registering a moose test entry speed of ≥80 km/h that underscores its exceptional agility and road-holding composure.
The 4WD variant incorporates a fully variable front-to-rear torque distribution system, dynamically shuffling power between 0% and 100% across the axles to seamlessly switch between FWD, RWD, and AWD characteristics. Selectable drive modes include Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Track; engaging Track mode disengages the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and permits manual torque bias adjustment between the front and rear axles. Stopping power on the 4WD variant is handled by front four-piston fixed sports callipers paired with high-performance Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (PS4) tyres (245/45 R19), delivering an impressive 100-0 km/h braking distance of just 32 metres. Electric Power Steering (EPS) with three selectable resistance settings is standard across the lineup. On the NVH front, cabin noise at a 60 km/h cruise measures just 55.2 dB, delivering acoustic refinement that outclasses most sports cars in its class.
Cabin & Equipment
The intelligent digital cockpit is powered by an automotive-grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor with 105k DMIPS of computing power, enabling the infotainment system to boot up in as fast as 5 seconds. Running the proprietary NETA SPACE in-car operating system, it supports an all-scenario AI voice assistant alongside intuitive interactions via continuous voice recognition, gesture control, and facial recognition. Full-vehicle Over-The-Air (FOTA) updates come standard across the range, allowing continuous remote enhancements across the powertrain, ADAS features, and cockpit applications. On higher-spec trims, audiophiles are treated to a 12-speaker 5.1.4 sky surround sound system paired with 63-colour dynamic ambient lighting to support immersive in-car entertainment, including karaoke and gaming. Comfort and convenience amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, a built-in cabin fragrance system, rhythm-synced multi-colour ambient lighting, and a 50W cooled wireless charging pad as standard across the range. Top-spec variants add an integrated dashcam, alongside optional styling enhancements like a sports rear spoiler.
Safety & Intelligent Driver Assistance
In terms of passive safety, the NETA GT is built around a high-strength cage body structure, coming standard with dual front airbags, front side airbags, and full-length front/rear curtain airbags across all variants. Active safety is comprehensive across the lineup, featuring Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Traction Control System (TCS), and Electronic Stability Control (ESC/ESP), along with Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and ISOFIX child seat anchor points.

The hardware array features 5 millimetre-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, 5 perimeter cameras, 4 surround-view cameras, and 2 front-facing cameras—totalling 28 sensors—driven by dual Horizon Journey 3 AI processors. Its Level 2 semi-autonomous driving capabilities encompass Full-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Centring Assist (LCA), Highway Assist (HWA), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Integrated Cruise Assist (ICA), Lane Change Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), and Driver Fatigue Monitoring. Parking is made effortless via Fully Automated Parking Assist (FAPA, handling both perpendicular and parallel bays) and Track Backing Assist (TBA), which automatically reverses the vehicle along its memorised path—ideal for navigating tight dead-ends and narrow lanes. A 540° HD panoramic camera system with a transparent chassis view is standard across the board, providing clear visibility of the terrain beneath the car.
Market Performance & Editorial Verdict
Following its commercial launch, the NETA GT initially recorded stellar sales figures in the sports car segment. In June 2025, it posted 2,272 monthly insurance registrations to capture the top spot in China's sports car sales charts, comfortably outselling both the Porsche 911 (443 units) and Porsche 718 (439 units) combined to seize nearly 50% market share. However, sales momentum cooled significantly into the second half of 2024, with monthly deliveries tumbling to 158 units in July 2024 before gradually dropping off mainstream sales radars. This decline was driven by several factors: on one hand, within the competitive RM180,000 to RM220,000 price bracket, consumers were drawn to highly capable four-door fastbacks and electric sports sedans such as the BYD Seal 06 GT, Xiaomi SU7, Zeekr 007, and IM L6, which offered greater practicality and broader everyday appeal; on the other hand, NETA's parent company encountered corporate headwinds and brand trust challenges from late 2024 into early 2025, which adversely affected retail performance. Moreover, the two-door four-seater packaging inherently restricted rear passenger space—an expected compromise of the sports coupé form factor—while its low 13° approach angle and 19 cm ground clearance limited ground clearance over uneven road surfaces.
Nonetheless, as a pioneering effort from a Chinese marque in the accessible electric sports car arena, the NETA GT demonstrated that a performance coupé can deliver genuine sports car dynamics without an exorbitant price tag, starting below the RM200,000 mark. Its 3.7-second century sprint, front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension, four-piston front brake callipers, and Michelin PS4 tyres remain class-above hardware highlights that offer compelling value in its price tier. While embodying NETA's strategic ambition to elevate its brand positioning with a flagship halo model, the NETA GT has delivered invaluable market insights for Chinese carmakers venturing into niche, high-performance enthusiast segments.
